Moilas Commits to Science-Based Climate Targets
Moilas Oy is proud to announce that our climate goals have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These targets are aligned with the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
As part of this commitment, Moilas will:
- Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030, using 2024 as the baseline year
- Measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions, focusing on areas where we can make the greatest impact
What Does This Mean?
Greenhouse gas emissions are categorized under the GHG Protocol into three scopes:
- Scope 1 – Direct emissions from sources we own or control, such as company vehicles and heating
- Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from purchased electricity and district heating
- Scope 3 – Other indirect emissions, including raw material production, logistics, waste, and business travel
Our carbon footprint calculation covers Scope 1 and 2, as well as the most significant Scope 3 categories where we can influence change.
